MANERI DAM - UTTARKASHI (UTTRAKHAND)

Maneri Dam located in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, India. Maneri Dam is a concrete dam Located on the Bhagirathi River in Uttarkashi district. The primary objective of the d is to divert water and provide water to the 90 MW run of the river Tilloth Power Plant. Significantly the Bhagirathi River is one of the top two streams of the Ganga river which is basically originates from the Gomukh of the Gangotri Glacier.

This dam diverts the water into a big tunnel and feeds 90 megawatts. The power station is stage one of the Maneri Bhali Hydroelectric Project which was planned in the 1960s. The area around the dam sprawls with the natural abundance which makes it a picturesque place to visit.

Best time to visit maneri Dam is in the month of January February March April May June July August September October November and December.

HOW TO REACH.

Dehradun is the closest city connected with rail head and airport from Uttarkashi. At Mussoorie bus stand. However Rishikesh is also the favourable ,distance from Rishikesh and Dehradun are around 145 and 175 kms.

3. SANGAM CHAATI - It is the starting point of the trekto dedtial trek this trek is very popular amoung adventure seekers as well as for the tourist this locatio is located at the borders of Uttarkashi.
