SANGAM OF ALAKNANDA & BHAGIRATHI RIVER - DEVPRAYAG (UTTRAKHAND)



Devprayag is one of the confluences of the widely known Panch Prayag where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi river Unites. This sacred place attracts tourists from all over the world because of its beauty and religion significance. Devprayag is a small town in Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand.

Devprayag lies at the confluence of River Alaknanda and River Bhagirathi and attain the formation of the holy Ganga. Thus it is also colloquially referred to as the birth place of Ganga and it is the starting point of the Panch Prayag Yatra. The presidential deity here is Tondeshwar Mahadev and it's lord Shiva is worshiped here in the form of his signature form , the Lingam. The temple for the Tondeshwar Mahadev Lingam is situated just in front of the Sangam.




You can also take a holy dip in the bathing Ghats of Devprayag and is savor the lip-smacking regional delicacies that are quite famous among the visitors. The adventure lovers can also indulge in various water activity sports.
