AULI - UTTARAKHAND


Auli located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand in India. It's an Himalayan ski resort and hill station surrounded by oak forest, Nanda Devi and Nar Parvat Mountains.
Auli means meadows from the characteristics of Surrounding. Apart from sking you can also do treking here in the hills of Garhwal Himalayas and enjoy the spellbinding views of the snow drapped over the mountains. The Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam Limited (GMVL) runs a Ski Shop and Ski Rental Resort.
Auli is a popular skiing destination in India because of its glittery slope and clean  environment. Many religious place are also there around in Auli , the smallest yet picture perfect town in Uttrakhand. In winters, Auli host serveral snow adventure.


AULI'S HISTORY


According to the legend it is believed that the lands of Auli was firstlyfirstly trodden by the great Guru Adi Shankaracharya. He built a temple at Joshimath which exists to today. Auli was inhibited by tribes called Bhotiyas. There were of Mongolian origin and established a flourished tarde with Tibet on Yaks. Years after, Auli become a training ground for the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force.


WHEN TO VISIT 

Well Auli is open throughout the year, but I strongly suggest you to visit this place in Winter Season From November to February.


HOW TO REACH 

Travelers can also hire Jeep and taxi to reach Auli Via NH-94. Nearest Railway station is Rishikesh Railway Station and Nearest Airport is Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun.
