NAINA DEVI TEMPLE - NAINITAL (UTTRAKHAND)

A well known Shakti Peeths of Hindu religion , Maa Naini Devi Temple in Nainital standing on one side of the beautiful Naini Lake . Which is famous for Indian pilgrimage and one of the 51 Shakti Peeths in India. Located on the banks of the Lake , it's a mesmerizing destination for tourists as well 
As the name 'Naina Devi ' gets its name from the mythological legend that Goddess sati's eye (Nayan ) fell at this place when Lord Vishnu cut her body into 51 different parts 

In fact , the whole town ( Nainital ) , the Lake (Naini Lake) and the temple ( Naini temple) all three of them name after it . 

INSIDE TEMPLE
There is a huge Peepal Tree That seems like sheltering the visiters in Naina Devi Temple across the tree is an idol of Lord Hanuman . Within the inner sanctum are sculpted figures of three deities;in the centre are the two netras (eyes) that represent Naina Devi , on left is Mata Kali Devi And on right is Lord Ganesha . The main shrine of Maa Naina Devi is bordered by two lion statues 
Devotees loves to stay for an hour you can feel the great presence of Maa Naina Devi 
Devotees came here with there wishes and Maa Naina Devi fulfill it . 

EVENTS 

During Nanda Ashtami , a big fair is organised in the Naina Devi Temple and devotees came here for Darshan and take blessings along with them .
A ceremony of statue immersion of Goddess Nanda Devi with her sister Naini Devi Is Celebrated on last day of the fair . 

HOW TO REACH NAINA DEVI TEMPLE

Naina Devi Temple is located at the northern end of Naini Lake in center of Nainital Town. 
You can easily reach there by walk from Nainital bus stand. Nearest railway station is at Kathgodam railway station about 35km 
Airport at Pantnagar Airport about 55km or Delhi IGI airport .
