SOLANG VALLEY - MANALI (HIMACHAL PRADESH)

Solang Valley is a side valley at the top of the Kullu valley in Himachal Pradesh about 14km northwest of the resort town Manali on the way to Rohtang Pass and it is known for summer and winter sports condition. Solang Valley is also known as Snow Valley famous for hosting different-different types of sports/activities. 

While heading to Manali , two absolutely essential destination in the itinerary are Rohtang and Solang Valley. A favourite for adventure enthusiastic, parachuting to paragliding, horse riding to driving mini jeeps specially for tourists of all age groups, Solang Valley has it all.

During summer the temperature is ideal in the summer months but if you want to enjoy snowfall and paragliding do visit in the month of December and January. During Winter months, Solang Valley is Full covered with snow, Making skiing is a popular sport there with training institutes and trainers located in the Valley to supervise skiers and train them properly.

HOW TO REACH 

The closest airport is Kullu Manali Airport situated in Bhuntar. It lies at a distance of about 63km away from Solang Valley you can reach there through car or taxi easily.The closest railway station is Joginder Nagar Railway Station at a distance of 175km from the Valley.You can easily reach there through road , roads are pretty good You can reach there easily by hiring a taxi in Manali Main Road Market from there to Solang Valley the distance is about of 11km  or you can reach there through bus or from your own car.

TIPS FOR VISITING SOLANG VALLEY 

1. Make sure you check the weather in the valley before you plan your itinerary.

2. Since it can get quick cold in the valley, you should keep some warm cloths with you before visiting.

3. If you are visiting during peak season , you should book a hotel before going.

4. If you wish to continue your trip ahead and enter Rohtang Pass , you will have to get the permit for the same.
