GURUDWARA BANGLA SAHIB JI - CANNAUGHT PLACE (NEW DELHI)



Gurudwara Bangla Sahib Ji one of the most prominent Sikh Gurudwara situated in Cannaught Place, New Delhi. Built in the sacred visit of Guru Har Krishan Ji to Delhi , the 8th Sikh Guru in 1664 , the magnificent shrine was built by Sikh General Sardar Bhagel Singh in 1783 , who supervised the construction of nine shrines in Delhi in the same year during the reign of Mughal Emperor Shah Alam II. The Gurudwara is an example of large hearted nature of Sikhs. Bangla Sahib Gurudwara is a must place to visit for Tourists and Devotees.


The complex of Bangla Sahib Gurudwara has a main prayer hall , a holy sarovar , higher secondary school, a hospital, Baba Banghel Singh Museum and A library within its premises.

People Who Visit Here Gets "Kada Prasad" and Free Langers(Community meals) are served at a particular time. You Can Feel The Presence Of Baba You Feel Connected To The Divine Powers. Devotees with faith and devotion come from far and near and get rid of suffering by taking a dip in the holy water. Nobody sleeps hungry under the divine soul. The Gurudwara has a Langar Hall, where meals are provided for all regardless caste , race , gender and religion. You can also render your service to the almighty by helping out in the Langer kitchen which is believed to be one of the most blessed prayer service in the shrine.

While visiting Bangla Sahib it's a place of worship and one of the most attractive and beautiful monument of religious significance across the world it has another timeless aspect which attracts visitors and Devotees from all over the world. The magnificent building is built in a classic Sikh style, with a heavy influence of Mughal and Rajput style. It is also built in a way that it is suitable and appropriate for the weather conditions of Delhi. Most of the structure is made out of white marble, lending it a calm and smoothing nice vibe make you feel spirituality enlightened and peaceful. 




HOW TO REACH 
Shivaji Stadium On Airport Line and Rajiv Chowk on Blue and Yellow Line ( Metro station). Nearest Railway Station is New Delhi Railway Station which is about at a distance of 1.5 km. Nearest Airport is Indira Gandhi International Airport which is about at a distance of 13.1 km.

THINGS TO DO

1. You can attend the prayer service.
2. Spend some quite time along the banks on the sarovar.
3. You can go through the texts in the Gurudwara's Library and learn more about the Sikh faith.
4. You can offer to help out in the community services and help in the kitchen, serve langar, serve water.
5. Have meals in the community kitchen or langar.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

1. Do not enter the Gurudwara bare head. You are strictly required to cover it.
2. Wear something which covers you completely from the shoulders to area beneath the knees.
3. In summer, visit the Gurudwara either early morning or evening as these premises are a bit cooler than the afternoon times.
4. Alcohol and Tobacco are strictly prohibited.
