LAST INDIAN VILLAGE MANA - (UTTRAKHAND)

Mana is a village in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, located at a altitude of 3,200 meters. Mana is a last Indian village from the border of India and China/Tibet in the Himalayas, it's been designed as a "Tourism Village" By Uttrakhand Government. Mana is just 3km away from Badrinath. Mana is on the banks of the River Saraswati also surrounded by Himalayan Hills adds beauty in the whole Village. Locals are friendly and helpful. Villagers of Mana live in small cottages that are decorated and carved gracefully by Locals themselves. Mana is also Famous for its Handmade Garments ( Mostly Made Up Of Sheep Wool) apart from this , Mana is Famous for its Potatoes and Kidney Beans.

MYTHOLOGY FACTS ABOUT MANA VILLAGE

Traces of Hindu Mythology, Mahabharata, are visible in Mana. It's beleived that Pandavas had passed through Mana Village for their journey to Heaven. 

You will find a famous stone bridge created by Bheem (one of the five brothers among Pandavas) which is known as Bheem Pool near river Saraswati. There is a huge rock formed as a bridge across River Saraswati.

TREKS TO DO IN MANA VILLAGE

Mana is a perfect place for trekking and there are many trekking sports that are located here. You can Trek on many routes like Mana to Vasundhara, Mana to Satopanth and Mana to Mana Pass.

MANA TO VASUNDHARA

Takes around 2 hours to trek. It's a waterfall Located at a distance of 9km away from Badrinath Temple. It is believed that it was the staypoint of Pandavas during their exile.

MANA TO SATOPANTH

Satopanth Tal is a lake at Mana Village which is located at an altitude of 4,600mts above the sea level. Around 3km away from Badrinath.

MANA TO MANA PASS

A mountain pass in the Himalayas on the borders of India and Tibet. Mana pass is not open for all civilians. A special permission is taken from administration before the trekking. The pass contain the Deotal Lake from which the Saraswati River originates.
