LAL TIBBA - MUSSOORIE (UTTRAKHAND)

Lal Tibba located in Mussoorie is the highest peak topmost point and most famous place in Mussoorie popular among tourists and travellers looking for long trails of major mountain peaks as well as romantic sunset and sunrise, Lal Tibba is located at Depot Hill in Landour. In local language Lal Tibba means the Red Hill. This is said to be the oldest and most popular place in Mussoorie, Uttrakhand.

Lal Tibba provides stunning viewpoints in the region, it is located in the top of Depot Hill In Landour and is known for its scenic beauty courtesy the pleasent sunrise and sunset that leaves the travellers spellbound. One can see the paramount views through the lens of a old telescope mounted on the top of a 20 meter long tall tower at the edge of the cliff. One can further take a look of Himalayan Peaks like Badrinath, Kedarnath etc with the help of telescope mounted on the top. This place is popular for its shopping, old fashioned cafe and colonial architecture.

A part from the mountains views, tranquil environment of Lal Tibba is relaxing. It also has Old British Architecture Style Hill House where Indian Military Services and Boardcasting station or towers in All India Radio and Doordarshan are working now.h

HIKING FOR LAL TIBBA 

Start your Hike from Mall Road till Lal Tibba situated at 7,460 Ft. Visiting Chaar Dukan, a famous sightseeing Cafe in Landour which gives a mesmerising view of Snowy White line of ranges from there. En-route visit the Kelong Memorial Church which is a historical buildings build in 1903. 

TIPS 

1. Wear Full Sleeve Cloths as it gets pretty chilly during Winters because of the thick deodar trees surrounding the area. Landour receives rainfall very often so it is advisable to carry umbrella. 

2. On the way to lal Tibba you can spot the famous house of Ruskin Bond. 

BEST TIME TO VISIT 

Best time to visit Lal Tibba is in January, February March April May June July August September October and December. 

The best time and the most ideal time to visit Lal Tibba is in the summer season of March and April avoid traveling during the monsoon months as there maybe leeches.

HOW TO REACH. 

Nearest Railway Station is Dehradun Railway Station which is 34 kms and Nearest Airport is Jolly Grant Airport which is around 54 kms away from Lal Tibba. It is located 5km away from Mussoorie. The roads through Lal Tibba are small and hence it's better for you to take a private cab from Mussoorie to reach your destination.
