Parmarth Niketan is one of the top yoga centers in India and the biggest ashram in the area which is situated on the banks of holy Ganga it has now blossomed over 70 years of its existence into the largest ashram in Rishikesh it was founded in 1942 by Swami Shukdevanand Saraswati. This ashram is open for all with no descrimination. Ashram is famous for its Hawan and Ganga Aarti which takes places daily in evening and early morning. The ashram also runs a school which follows the cultural and religious Indian patterns

The ashram is the home to a 14 feet statue of Lord Shiva that has been placed along the river bank. The divine tree Kalpavriksha, also boosts the sense of spiritual on the ashram campus. 



HISTORY OF PARMATH NIKETAN

This ashram was founded by Pujya Swami Divyanand Ji established the place in 1942 with an aim to providing his followers a deep understanding regarding spiritual word and connection of one's own self with. To imbibe the essence of peace and tranquility in our daily life lifestyle is a requisite and the ashram was founded based on this very notion. Pujya Swami Chidanand SaraswatiJi Maharaj has been the President and also the spiritual head of the ashram since 1986. He has been a pioneer in creating ashram into a hub of various traditional Hindu healing practice, nature cure since it's emergence, Parmarth Niketan Ashram has been hosting various spiritual events.

1. YOGA AND MEDITATION - you can sign up for any of the regular yoga and meditation class at the ashram that happens on a daily basis. Expert trainer's conduct the class at normal fees. 

2. SPIRITUAL LECTURE - The ashram is a hub of various spiritual activities, Daily morning and evening lectures by saint and religious practitioners among them is a vital one. 

3. ATTENDING GANGA AARTI - there is a major highlight of the ashram. Daily Ganga Aarti on the private ghat of the ashram is witnessed by hundreds of pilgrims and devotees. Not only the ashram residents, but local residents and tourists flocks here to be a part of the ethereal ceremony and chants some prayer on the illuminated banks of the river.
