BHOOTNATH TEMPLE - RISHIKESH (UTTRAKHAND)


Bhootnath Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Bhootnath Temple is situated in Swargashram region behind Parmarth Niketan Ashram. Surrounded by insanely dense forest gives you pictures view , a calm and quiet place perfect for meditation. The Fundamental sanctuary is little sanctuary on higher level you will get astounding view of Rishikesh Town. It was built by Sri Kailashananda Trust, Rishikesh.
It Is a secluded temple that is yet to be completely discovered by the tourists and hence , is less crowded.

MYTHOLOGY

As the legend said , Lord Shiva took rest here while he planned to wed his first sponse Sati.

The Bhootnath Temple itself have 10 bells hanging all around Shiva Linga and all have their own distinct sound. When you ascending to Bhootnath Temple you will see that every single floor depicts the gods and goddesses associated with Hanuman, Nandi and Shiva. In the end , when you reach the top end , you will see there is a small temple of Shiva where priests of the temple are found sitting. On the thirteenth Floor , you can also see the depiction of the Divine Procession of Ghost.

At a distance of 6km from Rishikesh Centre City. Nearest Airport is Jolly Grant Airport at Dehradun which is approximately 35 km away from Rishikesh and Nearest Railway station is Haridwar Railway Station.
