CHRIST CHURCH - SHIMLA (HIMACHAL PRADESH)

The Christ Church in Shimla is the second oldest church in northern India which was constructed in the Neo-gothic style also a state of pure devotion as well as architectural beauty. HISTORY OF CHRIST CHURCH - SHIMLA

During British Raj In India , the area around the Church was occupied by a huge flock of Britishers and Anglo-Indians. Since they were the followers of Christianity , they asked the government to build a place for their workshop Therefore In 1844 Construction of Christ Church Begins. The Foundation of the Church was laid down by Bishop Reverend Thomas Daltry. It took 11-12 years for completion. Total cost was around INR 40,000-50,000.
