HANUMAN CHATTI - BADRINATH (UTTRAKHAND)

Hanuman Chatti is located at the confluence of the Hanuman Ganga and Yamuna River. Situated at 13kms before Yamunotri Dham , Hanuman Chatti (2,400mts) is a scenic place offering an  ample amount of accomodation facilities. The orange colour temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman, who is an extreme devotee of Lord Rama. Almost every pilgrim visit there who are on there Char Dham Yatra.

Hanuman Chatti is also the base point of the newly explored trek of Gulabikantha as well. The river side scenic beauty at Hanuman Chatti acts as a perfect place to enjoy nature and countryside. Within the interior of the temple there is an impressive image of Lord Hanuman carrying a mountain. To the left there is a Samadhi of Himalayan Giri, a saint who lived and mediated in Hanuman Chatti.

Hanuman Chatti requires only a few minutes to explore the whole Temple and there is no resturant you might get tea stall there and only small shops selling Pooja Thali there.

MYTHOLOGY

While five Pandavas and their wife were in exile in forest and wandering around Himalayas, a beautiful lovely lotus flower come into Draupadi's hand. Draupadi requested Bheem to bring more for her.

He went out for More Lotus flower. He wandered through the forest for a long time but he couldn't find the flower he was searching for then he reached the place , today known as " Hanuman Chatti". He saw an old monkey blocking the way with his tail. Monkey told him that no Human is allowed to go further on this path. After a long discussion, monkey said that he is weak and old , can't move . So he asked Bheem just to move his tail so he can go forward, Bheem grabbed monkey's tail but he couldn't. He tried very hard but Failed.

Ashamed Bheem realised that he is not dealing with an ordinary Monkey. He asked him to reveal his true identity. Monkey Answered "I am Hanuman, Son Of Wind , Your Elder Brother. Hanuman ji wanted to teach his younger brother a lesson, Bheem realised his mistake and Hanuman blessed him and instructed him to reach Kubera's Garden where he will find the flower he was searching for.
